Ix Style was founded by Francesca Kennedy. "Ix" is the Mayan word for water and with every purchase, Ix Style donates 15% of the profit to Ecofiltro in Guatemala in order to provide clean water to children.
Francesca the founder was inspired by a natural disaster when visiting Lake Atitlán, Guatemala in 2010. The lake had become completely overrun with algae and the water looked like sewage. She saw young girls collecting the contaminated water to drink, to cook, to clean. That's when she decided to found Ix style and embark on her water mission.
Ix Style famous huaraches sandals are made by 1'000+ female artisans from communities across Guatemala. Each product is carefully crafted to capture the beauty, tradition, and magic of the Lake Atitlán. Ix Style products are made with azo-free cotton from Guatemala.
